Construction heating of the new Pier J building

The expansion of Frankfurt Airport is progressing. The new Terminal 3 will be built in three construction phases and adapted to the forecast passenger traffic. HELOT was awarded the contract for heating during the construction phase of the new building, Pier J.

With a construction volume of 112,000 m³, careful planning and implementation of the construction heating was crucial in order to progress the building work quickly and avoid moisture damage. The key lay in a needs-based heating output that was flexibly adapted to the requirements. In this case, 13 HTL oil heating centres with accessories were used.

In order to save heating oil and thus operating costs, we set up a day/night control system with which the demand could be individually adjusted. In order to be able to heat even more precisely, we also used 48 electric heaters - for small rooms and the electrical distribution boards on the roof.

This project was a follow-up order from the previous year. As an expert in solution-orientated construction heating, HELOT is proud to be involved in this forward-looking project as a long-standing partner.
